Show your scientific talents at the Ekurhuleni Science and Technology Fair

Submit your innovative scientific solutions to everyday challenges and be part of this year’s Ekurhuleni Science and Technology Fair.

Kosta Foundation, a non-profit organisation founded by Dev Mamabolo from Airport Park, aims to bring the wonders of science and technology to previously disadvantaged learners.

The NPO partnered with the metro, the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE), Gautrain, the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA), as well as Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), to present the upcoming Ekurhuleni Science and Technology Fair 2019.

“The science fair has established itself as a perfect vehicle for the youth of South Africa to demonstrate their skills in invention, innovation and understanding of the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” said Dev.

“We aim to embrace and play a part in implementing the National Science Engagement Strategy of the Department of Science and Technology, and we seek to further the agenda of the Department of Basic Education which encourages learner participation in such fairs as part of the Curriculum Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS) curriculum.

“Furthermore, this initiative provides learners with the opportunity to become original and innovative designers of scientific projects.”

The organisers urge participants to see this initiative as a platform for growth for future scientists, researchers and engineers.

The science fair process involves submission of innovative science and technology projects by Grade Four to Grade 12 learners.

The event will take place at the Germiston City Hall from 9am until 3pm on August 17.
