ER24 paramedics responded to the scene of a pedestrian accident.

A male pedestrian was killed after he was knocked down by a vehicle at the intersection of Main Reef and Shamrock roads in Primrose on Friday night.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 7pm, they found the fire department already in attendance.

“Upon further assessment, paramedics found the patient lying in the road.

“Unfortunately, the man had sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on the scene by paramedics,” said Ineke van Huyssteen, spokesperson for ER24.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not known to ER24, but local authorities were on the scene to investigate.”
