Fourteen arrested in daily SAPS operation

Katlehong police arrest 14 suspects in successful stop-and-search operation.

Officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit took to the streets of Katlehong once again in a crime prevention operation, last Tuesday.

The stop-and-search operation led to 14 arrests.

The accused were charged with various offences.

Charges included:

• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 6

• Malicious damage to property: 3

• Common assault: 1

• Dealing in liquor without a licence: 1

• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 1

• Intimidation: 1

• Crimen injuria: 1

Katlehong SAPS station commander Brig Sammy Thambo applauded the team on their efforts and encouraged them to keep up the good work.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
