Katlehong SAPS station commander Brig Sammy Thambo thanked the officers from the station’s Crime Prevention Unit for the efforts they’ve made in crime prevention.
Officers arrested 10 suspects during a stop-and-search operation, on Thursday.

The accused were arrested for several different crimes.
Charges included assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, rape, common assault, malicious damage to property, possession of suspected stolen property, possession of drugs and house break-in and theft.
All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.

“I hope these arrests will encourage the team and that outstanding criminal cases will soon be resolved,” said Thambo.
“Furthermore, I hope the community will see we are trying our best to keep them safe as we head into the festive season.”
