Police roadshow aims to teach children about crime
Primrose police continued their 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children activities with an educational roadshow.
Officers from the Primrose Police Station, members of the Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk and representatives from the metro’s department of community safety embarked on an educational roadshow recently.
The roadshow formed part of the police’s ongoing 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children activities.
During the event the team taught children from different areas across Primrose more about gender-based violence and other crimes that affect women and children.

“Despite the bad weather the children were eager to listen and learn,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“After speaking to the children we handed out sweets, snacks, toys and drawing books.”
Maome thanked the day’s sponsors Chubby Chums for the Children’s Homes and Avril Elizabeth Home for helping to make the day a success.
“A big thank you also goes to the youth desk members who are always willing to help,” said Maome.
