Germiston SAPS urge motorists to be vigilant as hijackings increase

The Germiston SAPS warns the community of an increase in the number of hijackings around Germiston.

The Germiston police have noticed with concern an increase in the number of hijackings being reported within their precinct.

“It is reported that the alleged hijackers pull alongside the motorist, point a firearm at them and demand they pull over,” explained Const Maxwell Mabunda, the communications officer for the Germiston police.

“The suspects reportedly use a silver Hyundai i10 or blue Volkwagen Golf 7, both with unknown registration numbers.

“The crimes are happening across the precinct so we cannot identify a hot spot.”

Police are urging motorists to be vigilant while on the road.
