Elsburg SAPS has clean-up operation
Elsburg Visible Policing Unit members and EMPD held a multi-disciplinary operation from March 27 to 29.
The purpose of the operation was to clean streets, focusing on crimes related to liquor and drugs, and also to eradicate illegal activities in the policing area.
“During the operation members visited liquor outlets and closed down two unlicensed taverns. “Liquor was confiscated and a fine was also issued for non-compliance with the Liquor Act,” said Elsburg SAPS spokesperson Daphney Phooko.
A 46-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at the vehicle control point.
