Hawk Academy learners in Primrose were asked what they would say to another learner who wants to commit suicide because of bullying.

Tshepo Tshabalala: "Think about your future because if you die you will not grant yourself the opportunity to fulfil your dreams."

Bullying can make school a difficult place to be for victims. Some learners go to the extent of contemplating suicide.

In light of the national impact of bullying, Hawk Academy learners in Primrose were asked what they would say to another learner who contemplates suicide due to bullying.

Amanda Macuiane: “Killing yourself is not a solution. Talk to someone you trust. There are people who might ignore you but others won't – they will help.”

Emihle Ntshangase: “Think about your loved ones and how hurt they will be. You will be leaving your loved ones in pain.”

Caitlin Majahamabili: “I think they should reconsider it because there are people who can help you with your problem. They can report the problem to social workers or the police.”

Xabiso Sirofu: “By committing suicide, remember that you won't get a second chance in life.”
