The day started with a roadblock on the M2 Germiston.

“The roadblock was all about ensuring the safety of the citizens and giving women driver’s roses wishing them a safe month. Women in uniform were doing what they do best in their line of work,” said Germiston SAPS spokesperson Maxwell Mabhunda.

The day was concluded with a gathering at the Germiston Hall where women were honoured and spoiled with gifts and lunch.

The speakers encouraged the women to overcome the challenges they are facing and to believe in themselves.

Speakers covered different topics from a social worker, Sanlam financial advisor, and Germiston Community Forum.

“We wanted to bring speakers that will address everyday challenges and offer ways for women to cope with these challenges,” said Mabhunda.

The keynote address speaker was made by Sithole.

She explained the meaning of woman for her:
