Property sector a solution to accelerate job creation
Mayor Tania Campbell released a statement to discuss the importance of property sector in creating job opportunities.
Ekurhuleni Mayor Tania Campbell released a statement following a meeting held with the South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) on March 3.
According to the statement, Campbell and MMCs Heather Hart and Themba Kalipa met to discuss strategies on how to create job opportunities while growing the economy within the City.
SAPOA saw the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) as one of the best places where opportunities are created. This includes service delivery and developments.
Campbell said she calls on all Ekurhuleni citizens to work with them in maintaining issues, such as potholes and water leaks, through the My Ekurhuleni app and other related social media platforms.
“We also extended an offer to work with the organised property sector in a more structured fashion to attend to service delivery and policy issues that present opportunities and challenges to the sector,” Campbell said.
During her address, she also announced they are proud to work with SAPOA, as many municipal governments in South Africa do not easily partner with privately-owned sectors.
