The meeting was attended by over 100 affiliate clubs who were determined to elect the new leadership of the province.
Steven Khanyile was elected as the president and Karabo Mabilo as vice-president.
He said he aims to make a couple of changes to make sure the organisation prospers.
He urged members to work as a collective and promote unity to prosper. He commended the IEC for holding fair and clear elections, bearing in mind the first scheduled elections resulted in failure as chaos interrupted.
“We need to focus on building the organisation to reach greatest heights,” said Khanyile.
“It will be the duty of the new board to identify companies interested in promoting the development of athletics through their brand. Development and support of elite athletes and the participation of female athletes is a priority.”

During her campaign, Mabilo advocated for the participation of women in athletics and leadership positions.
In an attempt to increase the participation of women, the Phalula twins, Lebo and Lebogang, declared their support for Mabilo.
Lebo was nominated to be the chairperson in the athlete commission portfolio, while Lebohang was nominated for the track and field commission.
Mabilo believes the development and support of athletes is a priority for CGA because without athletes, there is no CGA.
“It is important to ensure the administration makes inroads with the constituent members and stresses that the development of all athletes is a priority,” said Mabilo.
Mabilo said she would address the concerns around the decline of participation of young girl athletes in athletics.
