Hoërskool Elspark U16 rugby team won 17-7 against Limpopo Bulls in Musina Limpopo on August 6.

Elspark defeated Springs Boys High in the Valke Rugby Union league finals to qualify for the Virseker Beker play-offs.
Springs Boys High defeated Hoërskool Elspark in the first round of the league.

This was a great effort by the Elspark boys to turn the tables against Springs in the final.
“After the Valke Rugby Union league final there was no rest for the U16 team because they had secured their place in the Virseker Beker playoffs.
The playoffs present an opportunity for all the rugby union winners to play against each other,” said coach Dauw Steyn.
“The cream of every union face each other every week,” he said.
“The rugby team won their first two games in the playoffs.
“They also travelled to Musina to take on the Limpopo Bulls winners and came out on top. This victoriy cemented our place in the semi-finals of the Virseker Beker,” said Steyn.
“Elspark has won their last ten games in a row. That is something to be very proud of as a school. The boys work hard on the field,” said Steyn.
Elspark celebrated the victory against Hoërskool Heilbron at the Valke Rugby Union league finals on July 23.
The juniors team played at a lower level against other school first teams.

Winning the finals sent them through to the Virseker Bekker playoffs, which they lost to Schweizer Reneke in the first round.

Antonie du Toit, juniors coach, said the boys made the school proud and they will continue to build from where they left off this season.
