Vryburger High bags top matric results

After a hard year, facing numerous challenges, the matrics improved the school’s pass rate by 5.8 % to 93.2 %.

Hoërskool Vryburger High School proudly celebrated a well-deserved improvement in matric results against all odds.

After a hard year, facing numerous challenges, the matrics improved the school’s pass rate by 5.8 % to 93.2 %.

Thembelihle Dludlu: My career in Vryburger was such a self-discovery of character development. We were able to make it till the end of our high-school years because of how our teachers carried us through our good and bad rimes.

This is also the best pass rate for English high schools in Germiston.

The school bagged 11 distinctions and 38 bachelor’s passes.

Khensani Tefo: I can say that Grade 12 was one of the most challenging academic years of my high school. it required a strong mindset and good work ethic which I struggled with. It also in a way turned out to be the best year of my school career because of the memories made and the support I received from teachers and leaners.”

The Class of 2024 were well-disciplined and worked extremely hard. Learners attended Saturday and holiday classes and formed ‘study buddy groups’, while educators spent most of their free time investing in ‘final push’ strategies.

Lebohang Radebe: Grade 12 was both triumphant and tumultuous, I have experienced moments of pure joy and built a family bond with my classmates. I am grateful for the teachers who supported and motivated me at times I felt like giving up.

Parent support and involvement also played a big role in the success recipe.

• Afrikaans High School Germiston – fourth.
• Dawnview High School – fifth.
• Primrose High School – sixth.
• Elspark High School – seventh.
• Elsburg High School – eighth.

Nthabeleng Matlou: My journey at Hoërskool Vryburger taught me a lot about life and even though my Grade 12 year was hard I got to improve a lot and unleashed my potential. I feel I am ready to tackle anything in my life.

• Pfano Soejane achieved a distinction in business studies.
• Khensani Tefo achieved a distinction in business studies.
• Nthabeleng Matlou achieved a distinction in tourism.
