Man caught red-handed for cable theft in Germiston

A 32-year-old man was arrested in Germiston early on May 23 after being caught stealing an underground cable.

He had a 20-metre cable worth about R15 000, along with tools like a hacksaw, blade, and torch.

The suspect was arrested on the spot and taken to Primrose Police Station.

He is facing charges for damaging essential infrastructure and will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
