Germiston police arrest 26 in weekend crime blitz

All arrested suspects are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court from Monday, October 5, to face their respective charges.

Law enforcement agencies clamped down on crime across Germiston over the weekend during an intensive high-density operation in the district.

The multi-agency operation, which targeted crime hot spots in Germiston and surrounding station areas, ran from 17:00 on Saturday until late Sunday morning.

Brakpan immigration officer Lerato Mofokeng joined in the roadblock operations in Germiston.

Led on the ground by acting station commander Colonel Mmaphuti Mabula, the joint force aimed to assert state authority, curb criminal mobility, enforce compliance at liquor premises, and eradicate driving under the influence on local roads.
