City of Ekurhuleni warns residents about fake job advert
Residents are urged to ignore a fraudulent social media advert for a Streetlight Maintenance Officer post and apply only through the City's official recruitment channels.
The City of Ekurhuleni has warned residents about a fake job advertisement circulating on social media for the position of Streetlight Maintenance Officer.
According to the municipality, the advert is fraudulent and does not form part of the City’s official recruitment process.
Residents are urged not to submit job applications or share personal information through unofficial platforms.

The City reminded job seekers that all legitimate vacancies are advertised on its official careers portal and encouraged residents to visit its website when applying for employment opportunities.
It also advised residents to follow the municipality’s official social media platforms for verified vacancy announcements, service delivery updates and other important notices.
The municipality said it remains committed to protecting residents from recruitment scams and urged anyone who encounters suspicious job advertisements claiming to be from the City to report them through its official communication channels.
Residents are also encouraged to share the warning to help prevent others from falling victim to employment scams.
