Ackermans Pharmacy wins Pharmacy of the Year
The competition began with online votes where customers and the public could vote for their favourite pharmacy.
Ackermans Pharmacy was named the winner of the Pharmacy of the Year competition for 2023.
The competition, organised by the Solidarity Pharmacy Network, was open to all independently-owned pharmacies in SA and was judged on customer votes and in-person evaluations.
The competition began with online votes where customers and the public could vote for their favourite pharmacy.
The top five pharmacies were then asked to distribute paper votes to their customers, and the one with the most votes was declared the winner.

Ackermans Pharmacy emerged victorious, receiving more than 1 000 additional votes compared to the runner-up.
This timing of the win was perfect because the pharmacy celebrates its 75th anniversary this year and has just moved into new premises.
“We are incredibly grateful to all of our loyal customers who contributed to making us the winner of the Pharmacy of the Year competition,” said pharmacist Johan van Wyk.
