Triple murder suspect back in the dock

Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said SAPS are investigating a case of triple murder.

Triple murder suspect Eugene Botha will make his second appearance at Germiston Magistrate’s Court on January 11.

The 43-year-old was arrested by Elsburg and provincial SAPS on January 2 for murder and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Botha was arrested after the bodies of his father, Johan, mother Jane and sister Suné were found on the back of a bakkie in Rondebult.

Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said SAPS are investigating a case of triple murder.

She said the police officers patrolling the area were anonymously tipped off about the abandoned vehicle.

“Once officers arrived they found three bodies in the vehicle.

“The motive for the killings is unknown. All the victims had sharp stab wounds,” said Nevhuhulwi.

His first appearance was in Germiston’s Magistrates Courts’ courtroom A on January 4.

After a short appearance, Botha was taken back into custody.
