Runners invited to Modderfontein Half Marathon on May 12

Entry fees for the 21.1km run will be R240 while the 10km entry costs R160. Residents can also join the 5km fun run at R90.

Following a successful first half-marathon in Modderfontein in 2023, the Inkamana Athletics Club again invites road race enthusiasts to register for this year’s exciting instalment.

The half marathon takes place on May 12 at the Flamingo Shopping Centre in Modderfontein. The race will start at 07:00.

The route incorporates the old suburb into the newer developments around Modderfontein.

Residents and runners are invited to join the event to experience the chirping of birds at the nearby lake. Bring your whole family to enjoy the 5km fun run.

Following a successful first half-marathon in Modderfontein in 2023, the Inkamana Athletics Club is once again inviting road race enthusiasts to register for this year’s exciting instalment.

Unlicensed runners need to purchase a temporary licence for R60 should they wish to participate in the 10km event and R70 for the 21.1km run.

Runners can register for the race at www.finishtime.co.za or www.webtickets.co.za

Alternatively, entries can be obtained from Pick n Pay or Boxer supermarkets as well as www.racepass.com
The online early bird registration deadline is May 3.

Thereafter participants will fork out a late registration fee of R20.

Entries will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and there will be manual tickets on sale on race day, provided they are still available.

All finishers will receive a medal.

There will be a post-race breakfast on sale at the Flamingo Shopping Centre. Safe parking is provided around the lake.

The JMPD will ensure safety measures are in place and there will be adequate medical support, hydration stations, and traffic control.
