Police conduct search operation at Germiston High

Brigadier Nohlanhla Shezi, the commander of the Germiston saps station, was part of the school visit.

Germiston SAPS, along with various stakeholders, conducted a search and seizure operation at Germiston High School on January 22.

The initiative aimed to enforce safety on school premises and remove illegal or dangerous items.

The operation involved the Germiston CPF, CPW, Primrose Youth Desk, the Department of Education, Germiston SAPS Youth Desk, provincial CPF, and other law enforcement bodies.

Brigadier Nohlanhla Shezi, station commander of Germiston SAPS, also participated in the exercise.

A total of 1 400 learners were searched, resulting in the confiscation of five vapes, three matchboxes, and one playing card box.

“The school administration expressed gratitude for law enforcement’s presence and hopes this initiative sends a strong message to students against bringing illicit items to school.

“School safety remains a top priority as SAPS strives to create crime-free learning environments,” said Germiston SAPS communications officer Maxwell Mabunda.
