Germiston SPCA needs durable toys for large rescue dogs
The Germiston SPCA is calling on the community to donate durable toys for large-breed dogs in their care. These toys are vital for enrichment and mental stimulation.
The Germiston Bedfordview SPCA is appealing to the public for donations of durable toys for larger breed dogs in their care.
The toys will help provide vital enrichment and mental stimulation for animals currently at the shelter.
“While our team works tirelessly to ensure every animal is warm, fed, healthy and safe, the emotional and psychological wellbeing of animals is just as vital.

“Toys play an essential role in reducing boredom and stress, particularly for large dogs who require more robust forms of engagement,” said the branch treasurer, Jacques Peacock.
Inspector Nkosingiphiwe Sibiya, General Manager of the Germiston Bedfordview SPCA, added:
“Bigger dogs have bigger needs, not just physically but mentally too. Durable toys help keep them mentally stimulated and reduce stress. Enrichment is not a luxury, it’s essential.”
