From blossoms bursting with colour to buzzing bugs made of every imaginable material, each hat was a masterpiece in its own right.

The day began with a hat parade, where the children proudly showcased their creations. Adding to the atmosphere, the little ones, along with their teachers, also contributed to the outside décor, having crafted spring-inspired materials throughout the week to brighten the venue for the festivities.

“Each class prepared a special performance, whether a poem, choral verse, or song which they presented after the parade.

“The highlight for many children came with a playful spring-themed activity, mud with bugs and worms – a fun, edible treat made of biscuits, chocolate instant pudding “mud,” and candy “bugs and worms,” representing the treasures found in a spring garden,” said principal Karina Els.

“To recognise the incredible effort and imagination, a prize-giving ceremony was held. From each class, one boy and one girl were chosen by the judges for the most creative handmade hat, adding to the excitement of the day.

“The Spring Day was truly a day to remember filled with laughter, learning, and a wonderful reminder of the beauty of bugs and blossoms in springtime,” said Els.
