The acting chief of the Ekurhuleni Metro Police has been placed on special leave following allegations connected to the Madlanga commission, with political parties calling for discussions on the matter.
Ekurhuleni MMC of Community Safety Sizakele Masuku, confirmed that the acting chief of metro police has been placed on special leave following allegations arising from the Madlanga commission.
Masuku said the acting chief personally requested the leave to allow due process to unfold.

The African National Congress (ANC) has called for a caucus to discuss the matter, while a motion to place him on special leave was submitted by the Independent Residents Association of South Africa (IRASA) and supported by the African Transformation Movement (ATM).
