Thami Xala Foundation restores pride to Rondebult Primary School through repainting project
In a heartfelt effort to uplift local education, the Thami Xala Foundation has partnered with Plascon Paint to renovate classrooms and create a more dignifying environment for learners.
The Thami Xala Foundation has brought hope and renewed pride to learners and teachers at Rondebult Primary School through a hands-on initiative aimed at restoring infrastructure and addressing ongoing challenges.
In a show of commitment to community upliftment, the foundation recently donated paint to the school with the support of Plasco Paint.
Founder of the Foundation, bab’ Thami said the repainting of the classrooms would improve the school’s appearance and create a more welcoming and dignified environment for learners.

“The school was in dire need of a paint job. We stepped in to assist in finding a sponsor. The school has so many needs, and the painting of the school was a start,” said bab’ Thami.

He said the initiative is more than just paint on walls; it is about restoring hope and dignity to learners who attend the school.
“Our children deserve to learn in an environment that inspires them. When a school is maintained, learners feel valued and motivated,” said bab’ Thami.
Beyond improving the physical appearance of the school, the Foundation is working to identify and assist with other pressing needs, including access to resources, maintenance, and community involvement.
Teachers and school leadership have welcomed the intervention, noting that a positive learning environment plays a vital role in learner performance, confidence and overall well-being.

The initiative has also served as a call to action for the broader community.
The Foundation is inviting local businesses, parents, organisations and residents to play a role in supporting the school’s development.
Whether through donations, volunteering time, or providing resources, every contribution can make a meaningful difference.
“This is not something one organisation can do alone. It takes a village to raise a child. We encourage the entire community to come together and invest in the future of our children,” said bab’ Thami.
