The power failure has had a knock-on effect, leaving residents in Ward 92 without water as reservoirs run dry due to the gravity-fed system.

Guerreiro urged residents to prepare for a prolonged outage and to make alternative arrangements.
“We have residents who rely on oxygen and medication that needs refrigeration. With no power, it also means no water, as our reservoirs are now sitting empty,” he said.
He added that the municipality has requested JoJo tanks to assist affected communities. Residents will be informed via community social media groups about where the tanks will be placed for access.
Authorities have not yet provided a timeline for the restoration of electricity.
