Winter drive fundraiser brings community together for those in need
His Outstretched Hands collected winter clothing and donations during a fundraiser aimed at helping homeless and vulnerable people stay warm this winter.
The sound of music filled the air while the aroma of sizzling boerewors rolls drifted through the parking lot, drawing shoppers, families and community members together.
This was in support of a worthy cause.
His Outstretched Hands hosted a successful winter drive fundraiser in the parking lot of Ackermans Pharmacy on June 6 to help provide warmth and comfort to those in need during the cold winter months.

The event received overwhelming support as community members donated winter essentials, including blankets, jackets, jerseys and other warm clothing items.

Through the generosity of donors, the organisation collected three full boxes of winter clothing, which will be distributed to homeless and vulnerable individuals this winter.
In addition to the clothing donations, many shoppers who passed by the event contributed funds to the donation jar, showing the community’s willingness to make a difference in any way possible.
A variety of stalls kept visitors entertained throughout the day.

Guests enjoyed fun games, delicious food and a beauty station selling perfumes.
The smell of the braai attracted many visitors, who supported the fundraiser by buying boerewors rolls while enjoying the community atmosphere.
His Outstretched Hands chairperson, Natalie Neshena, commended Better Primrose and Ackermans Pharmacy for their support, saying their partnership played a significant role in making the event a success.
“Their commitment to community upliftment helped create an enjoyable and impactful day for everyone involved. Although the fundraiser has ended, the Winter Drive continues.

“Donation boxes have been placed outside Ackermans Pharmacy, where members of the public can still donate blankets, jackets, jerseys and other winter wear items to assist those facing harsh winter conditions,” said Neshena.
