City of Ekurhuleni opens new Katlehong fire station
The City of Ekurhuleni has officially opened the new fire station, expanding its firefighting network to 30 stations and enhancing emergency response services in the area.
The opening of the new fire station marks a significant boost to emergency response services in the municipality.
Executive Mayor Ald Nkosindiphile Xhakaza, accompanied by members of the Mayoral Committee, presided over the opening of the facility.

According to the city, the station increases Ekurhuleni’s firefighting network to 30 stations and will strengthen its ability to respond to emergencies across the region.

Strategically located to serve residential and industrial areas in Katlehong and surrounding communities, the station is expected to improve response times and provide critical support in high-risk areas.
The city said the development forms part of its ongoing investment in infrastructure and its commitment to improving service delivery and building safer communities.
