The Crusaders South Africa – Joburg Charter handed over pet food to the Germiston/Bedfordview SPCA as part of its ongoing community outreach, with support from members across the country.

Members of the Crusaders South Africa – Joburg Charter donated pet food to the Germiston/Bedfordview SPCA, with contributions collected from Crusaders charters across the country.

Deputy president Alex Annandale said the organisation established several drop-off points to collect food donations from members before making the handover.

“We have charters across the country. We received donations from the other charters and managed to collect food donations from members through different drop-off points,” said Annandale.

He said the decision to support the SPCA forms part of the organisation’s broader community outreach programme.

Annandale added that the Crusaders have already supported several charities this year and intend to continue assisting communities wherever possible.

The organisation has previously undertaken projects assisting the elderly and providing food support in areas including Kempton Park and Pretoria. It also plans to support a children’s centre later this year.

Annandale encouraged residents to follow the group’s community initiatives on its Facebook page, Crusaders Joburg, where updates on its outreach projects are regularly shared.

He was joined by representatives of the organisation’s partners during the handover, who described the collaboration as an important contribution to supporting both the community and the SPCA.
