This week I will be focusing on the BLAZER.
The blazer is popping up everywhere these days from chilled nights out at the movies to power parties in the Hollywood hills, but where did it come from?
The blazer originally came from England; it was created in 1825 for the Lady
Margaret Boat Club, the rowing club for St John’s collage in Cambridge, jackets were termed blazers because of the bright red cloth; the term survived the original red coat.
No longer is the blazer resigned to be thought of as drab school or sports wear, anyone who is anyone has at least one blazer hanging in their closet, if not more.
But is the blazer for everyone?
Well… the modern blazer is certainly accommodating; from stripes to neon coloured, tailored cut to mid-drift cut, blazers really seems to be catering for every social event, age group and body type.
I personally love the blazer and feel it gives a sense of class and refinement to any outfit, even an old pair of jeans and a T-shirt.
But don’t take my word for it, go out and experiment with the wide range of blazers available out there.
Once you have, be sure to let me know what you think?
Remember….
Have fun with fashion, that’s what it is there for.
