I would like to take a moment to comment on the shocking behaviour of the senior day staff and administration staff at Bertha Gxowa Hospital.
The hospital’s service to both the elderly and sick children in the district is extremely poor.
My father and mother-in-law recently visited the hospital with the intention of seeing a doctor.
They arrived at around 7am and, after hours and hours of waiting and being shuffled around, they left without having seen the doctor.
The complaints department could offer little to no answers or help to my father and mother-in-law.
The patients waiting are often informed that there is only one doctor on duty.
How is there only one doctor on duty at any given time?
I believe one of the reasons the hospital has such poor service delivery is because there are too many different staff members telling the patients who are waiting, what to do and often threatening them when they do not do as they are told.
The behaviour of the staff and the lack of doctors is completely unacceptable for a hospital.
I am incredibly disappointed with the service delivery and patient care.
Something needs to be done and the patients need to be treated with the care and respect they deserve.
