Most parents have become so greedy they regard ‘i-lobolo’ as a money making exercise which they think gives them the right to treat their daughters as if they are merchandise in the market place. To pay i-lobolo for a bride is a gesture with which the bridegroom and his family are acknowledging the parents of the girl for raising their daughter.
Please African people, let us stop insulting our women by making them our ‘vat ‘n sit’ partners in life. Marriage is a blessing from God and by paying i-lobolo you are not buying or purchasing your women but merely thanking her family.
