
However, the consequences of over-indulgence, especially for young people, will live with most of them for the rest of their life as either alcoholics or drug addicts. The festive season is known for turning many non-drinkers into drunkards and drug addicts.
I actually find it sad that as parents we don’t seem to be able to stop this until it too late and our children are already hooked on to alcohol or drugs.
As the saying goes; “It is better to bend a stick when it is still young than to try and straighten-it up and bend when it is old”.
Both the law and the police will now have to deal with many of these new social menaces in our society as either criminals or drugs addicts in future. In other words, we create these monsters unaware of the consequences of what they do to us in future.
