Joshua Chetty: “He was good and fair. Everyone says he was humble and he was generous but I admire him for being great and fair. A lot of leaders are great but not fair. He had an indescribable love for people of all races. He lived with integrity and dignity. These attributes built him as a leader and he stood by them which is why I believe he ruled with love and fairness.”
Allen Makgoatha: “I live by the words ‘Do not surround yourself with yes-men’. I once heard Nelson Mandela say these words in a speech and they became my mantra. I practise these words in the way I live my daily life and in the way I choose my friends. I repeat these words to myself at all times and I can assure you that I am definitely not a yes-man.”
Rose Ndlovu: “When we talk about Nelson Mandela we are talking about a phenomenal man. He’s the man who introduced the rainbow nation. He made us all believe in a better tomorrow where we would help each other whenever need be. I remember how charitable he was. He was selfless and that is how I live my life. I volunteer at old age homes and help out in whichever way I can.”
Peter Smith: “Nelson Mandela was a good man. I believe that if he was still alive our country would be in a better state. He had a great vision for our land, however, the people we have in power have no clue what they are doing. He was an icon and I celebrate him by doing good deeds. There is definitely no man alive in our country today that could take his place.”
