Tebbutt Academy still shines

Tebbutt Academy keeps producing champions.

Lambton’s Tebbutt Academy continues to produce quality mixed martial artists.

They recently competed in the South African Mixed Martial Arts Championships and brought home 63 medals (38 of them gold).

The tournament had approximately 400 competitors.

“It was a tough competition, because there were kickboxers, Muay Thai people, etc.,” said Master Alex Tebbutt.

At the time of going to press the club were still waiting for confirmation on which of their fighters have been selected to represent South Africa at the world championships, in Italy, on October 29.

  • Tebbutt Academy will host a tournament of their own on October 4 and 5, at the Springs Civic Centre.

They invite all dojos to take part, as there will everything, including full contact fighting, points fighting, weapons, traditional kata, traditional kumite, grappling and tile-breaking.
