The Tebbutt Mixed Martial Arts Academy, in Lambton, recently visited the Loerie Youth Centre, a children’s home in Bronkhorstspruit.
“We decided to visit the home because, for months, we have been collecting food, toiletries, clothes, toys and much more, and it was time to hand them over,” said Tebbutt Academy owner Master Alex Tebbutt.
“What a humbling experience it was; upon arrival the children were waiting with a warm welcome, there were handshakes and hugs all around.”
The children eagerly showed the club members their sleeping and living quarters.
Master Alex told the GCN that the children were excited to see and spend time with them.
“We stunned them with our show of katas, weapon katas, self-defence and tile-breaking, they couldn’t believe that real roof tiles were used,” explained Tebbutt.
“We look forward to our next visit, which will be soon, when we will be teaching them self-defence.”
The club members call on the community to join their campaign, Tebbutt Academy’s Give Back, and to help with donations of any kind.
