Spirit Games a great success

Physical and mental wellness tested at Ekurhuleni spirit games.

The metro, hosted its eighth instalment of the Spirit Games for people living with disabilities, last Friday.

“November 3 to December 3 is marked as National Disability Rights Awareness month,” said the metro’s communications and brand management’s spokesman, Themba Gadebe.

Over 600 people gathered at the Mehlareng Stadium in Tembisa to enjoy the fun and games.

The games were presented in a lightly competitive environment with the aim of promoting self-acceptance and holistic wellness among people living with disabilities.

All those who took part in the games received gold medals for participation.

“Some of the participants will be selected to form a team that will represent Ekurhuleni at the Provincial Games which are scheduled to take place at the Charl Baard Stadium, in Brakpan, on November 21,” added Gadebe.
