Annual Athletes’ Workshop 2015 tomorrow

Don't miss CGA's workshop.

Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) will host the long awaited Annual Athletes’ Workshop on Saturday, April 11, at Gauteng Sports House, Johannesburg.

“This annual event came about after thorough research by the province, on a mission to educate and tackle some of the discrepancies that might exist and affect the holistic development of athletes,” said CGA’s Mbalenhle Ngema.

“There is a constant need to look after our athletes and ensure they know what is expected of them and their rights in that regard.

“Over the years, the workshop has been able to tackle problems faced by athletes and give CGA a chance to learn and acknowledge the needs of our athletes and how best we can serve them.

“It is aimed at serving athletes from development level to elite, within the province.”

This year the workshop will focus on the following topics:

  • Contracts and clearances.
  • Sponsorships and endorsements.
  • Basic financial planning.
  • Anti-doping procedures.
  • Nutrition and training.
  • Education and Life-skills orientation.
  • Presentation by CGA Athletes Commission.

The event will run from 9am until 4pm.
