Catch the exciting Fred Morrison Road Race and run for a worthy cause.
Dust off your running shoes, stretch your muscles and warm-up for the Germiston Callies Harriers’ Fred Morrison Road Race, set to take place at the Germiston Stadium on September 13.
“This annual 10km and 21km race is held in honour of the late Fred Morrison who was known as ‘The Father of Callies’ and was club chairman for many years in the 1950s,” said Germiston Callies’ Andre Berrange.
“The race starts at 7am and all runners and walkers are welcome to participate.
“A 5km fun run, commencing at 7.15am, will also be among the activities to take part in on race day.
“All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Siyabonga Children’s Cottages; a charity in Germiston.”
All race entries will take place on race day from 5am.
Entry fees vary for each race.
“Residents in the vicinity of the stadium are advised that the PA announcements for the race will commence at 5.30am,” said Berrange.
“Early morning motorists around the stadium and along the route are requested to exercise caution and obey the instructions of the race marshals and traffic officials.”
