There was much excitement at the Elsburg Eagles Youth Rugby Club, last Saturday, when players, coaches, committee members and supporters were rewarded for their hard work throughout the season.
The u-7 team was particularly pleased when they won the coveted trophy for Team of the Year.
Their coaches, Alwyn Venter, Belinda Venter and André Beyleveld, were thrilled with the win.
Before the prize-giving commenced the club also held its AGM and the committee was reelected with no changes for the next two years.
The club has grown by 262 per cent in 2015 and is looking forward to increasing the number of players for 2016 and in the years to come.
“We have had huge success in our games over the last season and are a future winning club for players in all age groups in the Valke region,” said chairman Tyron Smuts.
The 2016 season will start with rugby clinics in February, next year.
The club caters for children from u-6 to u-18.
“We are here to help; rugby player or not, we teach children what fun it is to play rugby and always put safety first,” Smuts said.
