Late soccer player honoured

Luso Africa Football Club went head-to-head with Randburg Football Club in fixtures that were played in memory of a late Luso player.

Luso Africa Football Club’s first and second sides played against Randburg Football Club at Hattingh Park, last Saturday.

“Both games were played in memory of a great late Luso player, Macky Machado, who passed away last year,” said the local club’s senior side assistant coach and manager, George Lopez.

“This day, July 23, marks a full year since his passing.”

Luso’s Marco Cabaleira scored a goal which secured the first side’s win of 1-0.

“The boys and the coaches dedicated the win to our dear friend and player ‘Macky’, always and forever a Luso player,” said Lopez.

“The man of the match is Paul Raposo who pulled a spectacular double penalty save.

“Unfortunately, the second side lost 1-0 to Randburg.”
