Germiston bowl over the competition
Germiston City Cricket Club continue their winning streak in the Saturday Fourth League of the Easterns Cricket League.
This weekend saw yet another win for the Germiston City Cricket Club as they bowled over Reiger Park in an away match on Saturday.
The match was the second for the club in the new half of the Easterns Cricket League’s Saturday Fourth League.
The hosts elected to bat first and reached a score of 106 before they were bowled out.
Germiston’s top bowlers on the day were Rudi Le Roux with four wickets for only 17 runs, and Rudolph Swart and Johan Botha, who claimed two wickets each.
The visitors then took to the pitch and were able to reach and beat their target with five wickets in hand.
Gavin Ferriera and Jan Aucamp were credited as the top batsmen for the day.
This weekend Germiston will face the Tsakane Cricket Club at their home grounds, the Germiston City Sports Grounds, on Saturday in the Saturday Fourth League, with the first ball being bowled at 1.15pm.
