Local strongman takes top spot

Strongmen compete for top honours.

Strongmen were out flexing their strength at the Bier en Spier Fees held in the Pretoria Botanical Gardens on October 14.

Symhurst strongman Werner Neveling took top honours in the event.

Hosted by Chris Batts, a former strongman and current world record holder in numerous events, the competition saw competitors competing in the following categories, namely, tyre flip, suitcase walk, run and sandbag lift, tyre pull and tyre throw.

Werner Neveling competes in the suitcase walk.

Neveling won four out of the five categories which crowned him as the overall winner.

The event was sponsored by MotorGroup.

“It was a warm day out in the sun but it was all worth it,” said Neveling.
