“I soon looked for a coach because I wanted to test myself. I knew if I had one I would blossom,” said Uzzoh.
He defines athletics as an unforgiving sport that requires one to be disciplined.
“You are required to constantly train and keep up with yourself. It’s like soccer, you have to maintain your fitness,” said Uzzoh.

He aspires to win the 400m national championships.
“The injury disturbed my plans. Everything we planned with my coach had to be placed on hold. I look forward to the next season. We are going back to basics,” he said.

Uzzoh was a Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) 400m champion in 2020 and 2021. In 2020 due to Covid-19, he couldn’t compete as the national champion.
“In 2021, I competed at the nationals and got injured in the semi-finals. We still won a gold medal at the 4×4 relay as CGA,” said Uzzoh.
“I am eyeing the next Olympics and junior championships as well,” said Uzzoh.
