Elsburg fighter prepares to face his rival in the ring on March 2

Pietie ‘Thunder’ Coxen has his eyes set on fighting Tyron Bester in his second bare knuckle fighting (BKF) match.
The Elsburg EFC fighter fought his first BKF match last year.
He managed to knock down his opponent in the first round.
Later in the year he fought against Dino Bagattin in an EFC ring and he lost on the referee’s decision.
Coxen said the BKF sport is growing fast in the country and its gaining popularity across the world.

“I have been training since last year after my fight with Bagattin. I have been following my intense training routines and diet,” said Coxen.
“I am a straight stand-up person who likes throwing punches to my opponent. That ability gives me an extra advantage coming to BKF. I started boxing at age seven and never looked back,” said Coxen.
Coxen is scheduled to fight in a match on March 2 with tickets still available for purchase.

“The whole country was watching and young MMA fighters are inspired. Him winning the title means the world to us in the world of martial arts. There will be more scrutiny to talent from the country and investments will be made.
“I wish to see him fight Israel Adesanya in Pretoria. Adesanya is one of my favourite fighters but we know he cannot win against our current champion,” said Coxen.
