Golden Lions and Border shine at Rugby Week kickoff

The opening day of the FNB Girls Rugby Week saw thrilling matches between top youth teams, including wins for the Golden Lions INV and Border. Spectators packed the sidelines, cheering on young rugby stars in the making.

The FNB U16 and U18 Girls Rugby Week got off to a thrilling start with intense matches on July 2.

Free State clashed with the Golden Lions INV, while Border CD took on Zimbabwe.

The Lions edged out the Free State 10-5, and Border secured a narrow 17-14 win over Zimbabwe.

The U18s showcased their skills in thrilling matches, with the Griquas facing off against the Limpopo Blue Bulls and KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) taking on Border.

Despite the chilly weather and cold breeze, the day’s games continued with excitement, and more action-packed matches are set to unfold.
