Ekurhuleni athlete races ahead after leaving football behind

Khoza started training in track and field last year and has achieved promising results, including a personal best of 2:01s in the 800m event.

Siyabonga Khoza, a young athlete, has switched from soccer to athletics and is preparing for the 8km cross-country U19 race.
Previously, he played soccer for clubs like Sky City FC and Jomo Cosmos.

Khoza started training in track and field last year and has achieved promising results, including a personal best of 2:01s in the 800m event.

He said, “My Safa card was delayed and that demotivated me. I wanted to continue something that will keep me active and fitness was in my mind.”

Khoza has had success in track events, including finishing fourth in the 400m at the district level under schools.

“My performance has peaked, my training has paid off,” said Khoza.
