National ‘B’ inter-district bowls championships kick off in Ekurhuleni

The Benoni Country Club will serve as the main headquarters and Benoni Bowling Club (BBC), Lake Club Benoni and Northmead Bowling Club as the sub-headquarters

Benoni will welcome players from around 20 districts when three of the community’s bowling clubs host some matches of the of the Perfect Delivery Bowls SA ‘B’ Inter-District Championships from March 9 to 13.

Ekurhuleni Bowls, or the ‘Golden Province’ as it is affectionately known, will host the national showpiece, with Edenvale Bowling Club serving as the main headquarters and Benoni Bowling Club (BBC), Lake Club Benoni and Northmead Bowling Club as the sub-headquarters.

The competition will see teams of eight people – playing as two sides of four – battle for national glory as the community’s greens will host several of the nation’s most competitive ‘B’ side matchups.

BBC president Eamonn McNulty expressed the club’s readiness to take center stage during this prestigious week, saying they are ready to deliver an exciting competition.

“It is a privilege for Benoni Bowling Club to be named the sub-headquarters for the B-Section Inter-Districts. Our club has a long-standing reputation as a powerhouse in the district, and we have worked tirelessly to ensure our greens and facilities are in championship condition.

“We look forward to the camaraderie, high-stakes competition and showing the rest of SA the true spirit of Benoni bowls. We are ready to deliver a ‘Perfect’ tournament experience,” he said.
