Enjoy some ‘night fever’ at Emperors Palace

Paying tribute to the Bee Gees.

The Odeon Showbar, at Emperors Palace, will stage a tribute show to the Bee Gees until April 26.

Paul Buckby, Luciano Zuppa and Mark Richardson team up to reproduce the sounds and incredible harmonies performed by the brothers Gibb.

Buckby is well-known to audiences and currently stars in the hit television series “Isidingo”, having carved a niche for himself in all avenues of the entertainment industry.

Together with Clive Rodel, Buckby developed the original show “Immortality – The Bee Gees”, from which this current production has emerged.

He will be joined on stage by Zuppa, best known for his alternative contribution to music and theatre, and in particular his potent Freddie Mercury performance in the smash hit “Queen at the Opera”.

Completing the trio is Richardson, a seasoned all-round performer, who has starred in numerous musical productions throughout his career.

The Bee Gees Tribute Show will highlight the distinctive falsetto and melodic trademark sounds associated with the group.

Audience members can look forward to the early, heady ballads, such as “I Started a Joke” and “Massachusetts”, before surrendering to the hits of the disco era chart toppers like “Night Fever” and “Jive Talking”.

When asked about taking on the personas of such musical masters, Buckby said: “Barry Gibb once said that the Bee Gees would like to be remembered for their music long after they have gone; so, we are not trying to fill the shoes of the Bee Gees, we’re just lifting our hats.”

The Bee Gees Tribute Show will be performed every Friday and Saturday night at 8pm, until April 26.
