Young councillors lack experience

I would like to raise my concerns about the young ward councillors being paraded by some political parties to represent their municipal wards in the coming elections.

I am worried about the young age of some of these nominated councillors as they may not have sufficient experience to deal with the many complex problems faced by residents. I think they will need to be seconded by experienced councillors who have previously worked with the people they will be representing to ensure that they do the right thing.

Unless this is done, I think we will see many municipalities fail because their nominated representatives will not have the ability to handle the community and their day-to-day problems.
