Music to set your soul on fire
Carnival City plays host to annual Soul Train on its festival lawns.
The Festival Lawns at Carnival City will be the playground for a mix of diverse artists and DJs when Soul Train sweeps into Gauteng for this year’s installment of the event on May 5.
Taking to the stage at Soul Train 2018 are Musa Sukwene and Lady Zamar, as well as top DJs from Power FM, Kaya FM and Metro FM, including the likes of Wilson B Nkosi, T-Bose, Sentle, Bob Mabena, Georgie Munetsi, Msizi Shembe, Mo-G, Amon, Ismail Abraham and loads more.
This much-loved music festival is the brainchild of M&S Events which is also known for hosting the biggest picnics in Ekurhuleni and Heidelberg, as well as the themed Hawaiian, All White and Easter picnics at Carnival City.
Soul Train promises an entertaining showcase of local Afropop, R&B, soul, Afro-jazz and old classic house music.
Musa, who needs no introduction, is set to bring fans yet another energetic but soulful performance.
The winner of season nine of Idols SA and known for his very controversial hit song, Mthande, he is ready to take to the stage in true Musa-style.
Lady Zamar, one of Mzanzi and SA’s hottest music sensations, is set to wow her audience with breathtakingly beautiful vocals.

Hailing from Tembisa, Yamikan Janet Banda has always loved music.
Although she had planned to teach English in Korea, she changed her mind and decided to give South Africans her excellent music instead.
“This multi-talented songstress is a vocal powerhouse and we know all her fans, old and new, are going to love seeing her and the others collaborate to bring music lovers the time of their lives at Soul Train,” said Michelle Smith, marketing manager for Carnival City.
This relaxed, entertaining outdoor session takes place from 11am to midnight and guests are encouraged to wear blue and white.
